"Feza Gürsey" International Summer School in Mathematical Physics II:
Probability, Statistical Mechanics and Renormalisation Group
16.06.2010 – 02.07.2010
Feza Gürsey Institute
Istanbul - TURKEY
The aim of this summer school is to present to its participants some aspects of the interplay between probability theory and
certain statistical mechanical models, as well as rigorous renormalisation group methods applied to various branches of physics.
There will be three long courses (two 16.5h, one 12h) in addition to two shorter ones (7.5h each). Long courses will give a fairly detailed account of the subject matter, whereas the shorter ones will focus on more specific topics. They should be accessible to graduate or advanced undergraduate students, postdocs and faculty members looking for problems to work on the main themes of the summer school.
Long Courses
David Brydges, University of British Columbia
Equilibrium Statistical Mechanics in High Dimensions
Roberto Fernandez, Utrecht University
Cluster Expansions for Hard-Core Systems
Christoph Kopper, Ecole Polytechnique
Renormalisation Theory with Flow Equations
Short Courses
Bertrand Duplantier, Commissariat à l'Énergie Atomique
