Gilgamesh Project
at Feza Gürsey Institute
Gilgamesh project is aiming at building a high performance computing cluster in Feza Gursey Institute.
The current machine consists of 16 computing nodes and a server node.
The hardware configuration of the machine is as follows
Hardware
- Head node (Gilgamesh): Pentium IV 2.4 GHz. With 1GB of PC800 RDRAM and 2x40GB of disk space.
- Slave nodes (Enkidu's 1-8): Pentium IV 2.4 GHz. With 512MB of PC800 RDRAM and 40GB of disk space.
- Slave nodes (Enkidu's 9-16): Pentium IV 2.4 GHz. With 512MB of DDR400 RAM and 40GB of disk space.
- Interconnect: Allied Telesyn, 24-port fast ethernet switch.
Thus we have an aggregate of 9GB of RAM and 720GB of disk space.
Software
- Oprating System is RedHat Linux 9.0.
- Clustering is achieved by OSCAR 3.0.
- GCC 2.95.3, (mainly for MDP-FERMIQCD).
- GCC 3.2.2.
- Intel Fortran and C,C++ compilers, versions 7.1 and 8.0. Unsupported versions.
- Intel Math Kernel Libraries, 6.1 (trial) and 5.3. Unsupported versions.
- Lapack and blas, parallel and serial versions.
Becnhmark Results (under constant construction)
- Mpbench, (test done while the machine was an 8 node cluster).
- Blasbench.
- Cachebench.
- Hint Quips.
- MDP-FERMIQCD(Lattice QCD),(test done wile the machine was an 8 node cluster).
